Well, are you surprised? The Sunnis are NOT going to live under the rule of the vermin Shiites, who take orders from Iran. The Sunni lords of Saudi and Jordan are going to filter guns and money into Iraq and you will see the government fall as we pull out. You know what? The military men in my family–most have been officers–all said before the Bush invasion “Cut off the head of the snake.” We should have killed Saddam and his sons, and put the Republican Guard in charge of that country. You pump the oil nice nad cheap, and we give you weapons to kill Shiites. You can attack the Kurds, but feel free to kill Shiites and Iranians all you like.
The surge was a way out. It was comparable to the bombing campaigns Nixon launched on North Vietnam to pound the North Vietnamese into a “peace” treaty that allowed the US to get the hell out of Dodge. What a shock that after we got the vast majority of our troops out, the North launched an offensive and murdered the South Vietnamese by the thousands. And we skeedaddled off.
I wonder if Cheney is making deals with the Saudis to filter in guns. I’d rather have Sunni goat rollers in charge than Shiite goat rolles in charge, and the Shiites take their marching orders from Tehran.
